As it turns out, CACC did host a TYC 21 workshop to show physics teachers how easy it is to have science teams. We had participants from Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. The CACC Science Team divided up into 6 teams. The twenty four participants were divided into 6 groups and they rotated around to the 6 different stations and the science teamers did activities with them just as they did third graders. Each participant was given printout of the activities as well as a box of the materials to perform the activities.
To see how it went, have a look!
Final assessment? It was a fun workshop, but alas, a total failure. I asked people to let me know if they started a science team. I never heard from a single workshop partcipant. Those that I asked about it at subsequent TYC21 meetings said they never quite got around to doing it.
