The first three questions refer to the material you were to read in preparation for the lesson. Questions one and two require you to write a three or four sentence response. Number three is a multiple choice question. Click in the appropriate circle. Questions 4 is your opportunity to suggest what we should emphasize today and how.

A LITTLE note from the professor!

It has been brought to my attention that most of the students in math 126 think these quizzes are a bunch of bullbleep, and that just doing these problems in class should be sufficient. Well, that is a nice opinion, but the facts simply do not support it. As a matter of fact, we DO do most of these problems EVERYDAY in class, and in spite of that about eighty percent of the class comes in and acts as if they have never seen them before. Obviously, they haven't seen them enough to make them stick. I mean, even the derivative and integral of xn is a new idea every day!!!!! That's every single day! I'm starting to get seasick from going in circles so much! The fact that both the derivative and integral of ex with respect to x is ex continues to totally escape the entire class!!! Solving linear equations is a brand new idea everyday!!! The meaning of ln eu and eln u are both mysteries, in spite of the quizzes!!! It's going to take looking at that list of derivatives and integrals daily for an extended period of time to make it stick. Two quizzes a week and doing the problems everyday in class clearly aren't working. Perhaps daily quizzes......hummm?
