Rules for Robotics
Engineering I
Competition 2011
The racetrack will consist
of 4 lanes 20 feet long.
There will be a test lane for practice. However, timers
will take no times until the actual race begins.
The robots will be placed at
the beginning
of their respective lanes.
We will have three heats of
four.
The winners of these three
heats will
compete in the finals.
Finalist will have 10 minutes
to make any
necessary repairs or alterations before the final race.
May the best robot win!
Rules:
1. The robotŐs front wheels
must start
behind the starting line.
2. Robots will be disqualified (in this heat), if any
piece falls off during the race.
3.
Robots will be disqualified (in this heat), if any wheel completely crosses a lane marker. (means it's ok to touch the lane line.)
4.
Robots failing to stop within three feet after crossing the
finish line
will be disqualified.
5. You will place your robot at
the
starting line and start the program.
The robot must be activated to take off when it hears the
starting gun.
6. The first robot whose nose
crosses the
finish line is the winner.
Each member of the winning team
will
receive a winner's certificate and a prize.
